🌱 Sustainable Materials for Harsh Environments
Both the weed mat and sand barrier bag are made from polylactic acid (PLA) — a bio-based polymer derived from renewable plant resources.
Unlike traditional plastic materials, PLA products can biodegrade naturally into water and carbon dioxide under composting conditions, avoiding the long-term burden of microplastic pollution in desert environments.
🏜️ Two Roles, One Mission
- PLA Weed Mat: Laid across sandy soil surfaces to prevent wind erosion, retain moisture, and suppress unwanted vegetation. It provides a stable microenvironment for the growth of native plants and shrubs.
- PLA Sand Barrier Bag: Placed in grid patterns across dunes, it acts as a physical barrier against shifting sands, gradually promoting the accumulation of soil and the germination of hardy desert species such as Haloxylon ammodendron and Calligonum mongolicum.
Together, they form an eco-friendly protective system — combining mechanical stability with biological restoration.

In recent projects in Gansu and Inner Mongolia, our PLA materials have shown impressive durability under extreme temperature and UV exposure.
After months of exposure, the materials remain strong enough to protect young plants, then slowly start to degrade as vegetation takes hold — creating a truly circular and sustainable desert control solution.
